HANDS-ON ADJUSTMENTS WORKSHOP FOR YOGA TEACHERS

Ever stood beside a student and wondered whether you should adjust... or leave them alone?

Most yoga teachers were taught where to put their hands.

Few were taught how to decide what this particular person needs.

Stop asking,

"What's the correct adjustment?"

Start asking,

"What does this person need?"

That's what this workshop is about.

Going beyond memorised assists.

Learn to see what's happening in front of you, decide what this person needs, and adjust with greater skill and confidence.

Led by senior yoga teacher, teacher trainer and former YogaLondon Course Leader Sandra Paternostro.

Included with every workshop place is The Foundations of Hands-On Adjustments Online course

✔ Lifetime access

✔ Watch before the workshop

✔ Revisit afterwards whenever you need a refresher

✔ Around 75 minutes of bite-sized lessons

The pose may be the same.

The person never is.

Why this workshop is different

Most adjustments training teaches techniques. This workshop also teaches judgement.

Hands-on adjustments aren't just about knowing lots of assists. They're about knowing what this particular person needs today.

Have you ever...

...talked yourself out of giving an adjustment because you weren’t sure it was the right one?

...walked away from a student thinking, "I know there's something I could do here...but don’t know what"?

...given an adjustment, only to spend the next few minutes wondering whether it actually helped?

If so, you’re not alone.

Not because we're bad teachers.

Because this is the part that often isn't taught.

What you'll learn

By the end of the workshop you'll be able to:

✓ See what's really happening, instead of what you expected to see.

✓ Recognise when an adjustment is likely to help and when it isn't.

✓ Adapt your approach for different bodies rather than applying the same assist to everyone.

✓ Use touch with greater confidence, clarity and purpose.

✓ Make thoughtful decisions instead of just relying on memorised techniques.

Sandra helped us think beyond the practical side of adjustments and reflect on intention, power dynamics and much more.

I learned so much about alignment and hands-on support. I feel far more prepared as a teacher.

A different way to learn

Most workshops begin with theory before squeezing the practical work into whatever time is left.

I've turned that around.

When you book your place, you'll receive lifetime access to The Foundations of Hands-On Adjustments online course, so you can learn the principles before the workshop, at your own pace.

You arrive at the workshop already understanding the principles, which means we spend far less time sitting and listening, and far more time doing what you came for: practising hands-on adjustments.

Is this workshop for you?

Whether you've recently qualified or have years of teaching experience, this workshop is for teachers who want to move beyond textbook alignment and respond to the person in front of them.

If you've ever hesitated before giving an adjustment, or walked away wishing you'd known what to do, you'll find a practical framework that helps you make those decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

What the afternoon looks like

We'll explore a range of standing, seated and inverted postures together.

For each pose we'll discuss what we're observing, why an adjustment might help (or why it might not), and how different bodies may need different approaches.

You'll watch demonstrations, work in pairs, practise a variety of adjustments, receive individual feedback and have plenty of opportunities to ask questions as we go. That’s why places are limited to just 18 teachers.

The focus isn't just on memorising techniques. It's on learning how to think.

Why I created this workshop

After training hundreds of yoga teachers, I kept seeing the same moment happen.

You walk over.

Pause.

Look.

Walk away.

Not because you don't care.

Because you genuinely don't know what the best decision is.

I've spent many years teaching yoga and training yoga teachers, including as Course Leader for YogaLondon's 200-hour teacher training programmes. During that time, I've watched this same moment play out again and again.

This workshop gives you a practical framework for making those decisions with greater clarity and confidence. It's the system I wish every teacher had been given from the beginning.

Most teachers are taught to recognise the pose.

I teach you to recognise what the person needs.

Thriving Through Menopause - The Four Pillars of Health

Attend both workshops on the same day for £200 and save £30.

Most yoga teachers teach women experiencing perimenopause or menopause, yet many receive little or no training in how hormonal changes affect the body and mind.

This practical training with yoga therapist Lindsey Brown explores the four key areas of health affected by menopause: brain, bone, muscle and heart health. Through a combination of online learning and in-person training, you'll gain a clearer understanding of the physiological changes taking place and how yoga can safely and effectively support your students.
